I started out as a writer, drawn to the way words could capture a moment, a feeling, a fleeting scene on a busy street. But language has borders, and I wanted to reach beyond them. That search led me to study media and communication, and somewhere along the way, I discovered that a photograph could say everything a sentence could — and be understood by anyone, anywhere.
